Marie Young and the Tenori-on

Last week I met with graphic designer Marie Young, who is working on a brilliant project linking knitting to digital sound devices. Marie is working with the Tenori-on device – an elctronic musical sequencer, with an interface of 16 x 16 led buttons. The aim is to find parallels between knitting and the programming methods and visual aesthetic of the Tenorion device.

For an initial test I showed Marie the Daviworks hack for the KH950i, and we created a simple pattern repeat based on a Tenori-on interface image.

I’ll be working with Marie on the upcoming Whitworth Pub Crawl event at Big Hands in February.
