Some pictures from my knitting performance at Film Material Soup. The pictures show me explaining the knitting machine, demonstrating the punchcard system, and attempting to knit the Horse in Motion as an animated sequence. What they don’t quite communicate is the absolute adrenalin fulled experience that is live knitting. They also don’t show that the performance failed! After four horses, my yarns slipped off the hooks and my carriage snagged. I had to admit defeat. I did however show one that I had made earlier (see gif below).
