Knitted Ebook workshops

SQ_500 KNITTED EBOOK SQ ver 2

Milton Keynes Libraries Digitalis Commissions

Work with artist Sam Meech to create a knitted artwork inspired by books, that will then be turned into an ebook and shared with library users.

“don’t judge an e-book by its cover”

Working with punchcards and hacked electronic knitting machines, as well as hand knitting, Sam is inviting you to design and knit a response to a book, in the form of a knitted ‘pixel’. It may be an image from the book translated as a fairisle pattern, or a piece of text knitted as a pixel font or even translated to binary. The knitted pixels will be collected an stitched together to create the final artwork, as well as being documented in the form of an eBook.

Workshops will last 2 hours, during which you will design and knit your pixel, or take away your design to hand knit in your own time.

More details and dates will be posted here soon!
